Abstract: This project explores the behaviors of the unconscious mind based on the author's artistic expressions. The purpose is to examine how the unconscious mind sublimates and expresses feelings from traumatic moments in the author's life, demonstrating the psychological relevance sought in art. The analysis aims to deepen the understanding of the connection between the unconscious mind and the expression of an artist through their work. Ultimately, the project seeks to expose and support the author's creative imagination and the mural's potential, integrating different artistic languages, such as drawing and painting, with surrealist and expressionist imagery.
The tools used for this research included selecting works created from the age of eleven onwards to show the artist's evolution and unconscious expression. Following this selection, an analysis of the works was conducted based on psychological knowledge from a professional. A mural was then created, featuring a main drawing with lace and threads directly on the wall, displaying all selected works. Finally, surveys were conducted with various institution members to gather opinions and different perceptions.
The analysis revealed repeated patterns related to the unconscious and its behavior in difficult situations. This demonstrated hidden feelings within the unconscious's behavior. Despite being in an institution with artistic principles, students had difficulty analyzing artistic bases. However, personal identification with the artworks showed how the unconscious manifested itself.
| Methodology | Selection and analysis of artworks from different periods, creation of a mural with lace and threads, and surveys to capture perceptions. |
|---|---|
| Results | Identified patterns in the unconscious behavior reflected in the artworks, revealed difficulties among students in analyzing artistic elements, and demonstrated personal identification with the art. |
| Conclusions | Art serves as a vital tool for expressing and understanding unconscious emotions and experiences. It helps in personal development and offers a mental escape for expressing deep-seated emotions. |
