Abstract: This research-creation tries to determine how extended instructional knowledge and theoretical bases are necessary to make music in a way that people can feel an emotional connection to. The main point of this project was to gain confidence in what I do, feel comfortable showing people my creations, and discover how experience can impact my results to inspire a dreamer and myself finally. Understanding musicians’ points of view on their creative process, music stories, and paths was crucial. The demos of an Extended Play of four songs were made for this matter, from writing the lyrics and making the melodies to producing with a co-producer who learned independently with the internet's help. After this, an immersive experience was conducted to understand if the public could feel an affinity for my music. Based on the objective of the presentation, four murals were displayed with qualitative questions where people could write the answers of how they felt after each song. After the immersive presentation, I analyzed my process and people's points of view. I understood that having a previous education to make enjoyable music is not crucial, but experience and practice to help improve the creative process and the final result.
| Methodology | The creation process is all about trying new things, and only sometimes, what worked once will work again when fabricating a piece. Because of the possible creative blocks, I’ve created a system of different stages, writing poetry to understand my emotions, having them on paper to palpate what I want to say, and then modeling the melody |

| Results | Creating art can be represented in innumerable ways, but the pillar of creating something is being able to transmit a feeling to the public. (Degas, n.d.) states, “Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.” That is why music is art, making you feel and see the world through the artist's eye. This project was born from work done by the admiration of C. Tangana’s creative work, which, as mentioned before, does not have innate talent or musical education. I aim to develop a similar process of creating music without any theoretical concept. What this work has in common is the passion and understanding of how effort makes everything. The difference between my work and his is not having a philosophy career, crew, professional studio, or the same amount of time he had to dedicate to music. |
| Conclusions | When starting this project, I wanted to understand the necessity of previous experience producing music. After I created the song “WHERE IT ALL STARTED” and started the last three songs, I understood the value of experience; all of this helped me to realize that communication is vital to know how the process works and to get comfortable in the environment and, in my case, with the person you are working with during the production process. A straightforward procedure, that is how I would describe it when producing “Never-ending Nostalgia.” |
