Abstract: The present research aims to analyze the effects that physical and emotional abuse in romantic relationships have on the personality of teenagers. To achieve this, the researchers started to identify the causes behind the abuse to be able to analyze the effects that the abuse has on adolescents; then, alongside a psychologist, strategies were developed to empower teenagers to deal with abusive romantic relationships on their own. The investigation primarily aims to investigate changes in the personality of teenagers who are in abusive romantic relationships; therefore, the researchers focused their line of inquiry on social aspects. Furthermore, as a part of their qualitative investigation approach, the researchers utilized surveys to obtain general information about the students. They further analyzed this information by conducting individual interviews and presented the data in tables and graphs from a selected group of students. With these research methods, the researchers found that most teenagers interviewed did not have a change in their personality. In the end, the researchers concluded that many aspects need to occur for adolescents to see a change in their personalities. The duration of the relationship, how constant the abuse was, whether their partner was insecure, and the relationship they maintained with their friends are all variables that affect the impact the toxic relationship could have on the teenagers' personalities.

Methodology The research employed a qualitative approach, using surveys to gather general information and individual interviews to delve deeper into the personal experiences of teenagers in abusive relationships. Data was analyzed and presented through tables and graphs.
Results The study revealed that most teenagers interviewed did not experience significant changes in their personality due to abusive relationships. Variables such as relationship duration, abuse frequency, partner insecurity, and social interactions were identified as influencing factors.
Conclusions The findings suggest that the impact of abusive relationships on personality is complex and influenced by various factors. Effective strategies to support teenagers in abusive relationships should consider these variables and aim to empower adolescents to recognize and address abusive behaviors.
